Welcome on the website of The Netherlands – Sri Lanka Business Council.
Established in 2001 and revived in 2008, the NL-SL-BC wants to promote bilateral trade and investments between The Netherlands and Sri Lanka. The historical ties between The Netherlands and Sri Lanka date back to 1602, when three VOC ships landed on the island and the trade in cinnamon started. Throughout the centuries the trade between Sri Lanka and the Netherlands continued. These days there is a lot of bilateral trade, both in agricultural, industrial and service sectors.
The Dutch companies active in Sri Lanka are importers and exporters, small, midsize and big, investors and traders. As such the council has a wide variety of members with their own specific ties with Sri Lanka. With the divers interests and backgrounds this council offers wide expertise and know-how from its members. The council aims to be the platform to spread knowledge and expertise on doing business with Sri Lanka.
If you are already in business with Sri Lanka or starting up new activities we will happily welcome you as a member.
We hope this website will give you the information you were looking for.
